Crianza: (Cre-ahn-thah): Wine aged about one year in a cask.
Denominación de Origen: Governmentally regulated wine region.
La Mancha: One of Spain's largest wine regions, located south of Madrid.
Mendoza: (Men-doe-sa): Major wine producing region an province in western Argentina, producing 75% of that country's wine.
Navarra: (Nah-var-rah): Demarcated region, rather better than ordinary sturdy wine for everyday drinking.
Reserva: (Ray-sair-va): Spanish for reserve, a selected lot of wine set aside for further ageing in cask or in bottle. This term is used most frequently in the Rioja district.
Rioja: (Ree-o-ha): Outstanding wine region in north-central Spain near the French border, named for the Rio Oja River.
Rosado: Rosé.
Sangria: (San-gree-ah): Red wine served chilled with fruit and/or lemonade.
